Jaw Sparing Surgery for Tumor Removal in a Dog

Jaw Sparing Surgery for Tumor Removal in a Dog

P10409861

This patient was presented with a tumor requiring that 1cm of jaw around the tumor be removed. Radiographs were taken to confirm minimal bone involvement.

Before and after surgery radiographs, as well as an after surgery photograph, are shown below. This newer technique caused less pain, allowed for better jaw function, and decreased healing time, as compared to older techniques in which more jaw (sometimes the entire jaw) is removed.

This patient is doing well after surgery and is cancer free!
